From being a trusted companion of the Prophet to the trust worthy carrier of his message to his great-great grandson, Jabir traversed a span of time that few others did.<\/p>\n<p>He was blessed with the benevolence of Rasulullah\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup> who brought both his sons back to life after one had slaughtered the other in play and then used the knife on his self. He witnessed a number of miracles performed by Moulana Ali\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>; one of them being that of the <em>noor\u00a0<\/em>that emanated from Moulana Ali\u2019s\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup> finger in which Jabir travelled from Kufa to Medina twice. <!--more-->It was upon Jabir\u2019s insistence that Moulana Imam Hasan\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>\u00a0 prayed, and Rasulullah\u00a0<sup>SA\u00a0<\/sup> along with Moulana Ali\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>\u00a0 appeared to declare the righteousness of Moulana Imam Hasan\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup> in declaring a truce with Mu\u00b4awiyah. Due to old age and having lost his vision, Jabir could not accompany Moulana Imam Husain\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup> in Karbala, but he was the first to perform his <em>ziyaarat<\/em> and recite salaam by his\u00a0<em>qabr mubarak<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>He had one last important task to fulfil: to convey the <em>salaam<\/em> and message of Rasulullah\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup> to Moulana Imam Mohammed al-Baqir\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>. One day while walking through the streets of Medina with the aid of an escort, his ears picked out the words of a maid calling out \u201cMohammed.\u201d Immediately, he enquired and found out that the maid was indeed referring to Imam Mohammed al-Baqir\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>, who at that time was quite young.\u00a0 Jabir approached the Imam\u00a0<sup>SA<\/sup>, kissed his feet and conveyed Rasulullah\u2019s\u00a0<sup>SA\u00a0<\/sup>salaam and his directive to disseminate knowledge. The word <em>baqara<\/em> in Arabic means to open and expand; Imam Mohammed al-Baqir\u00a0<sup>SA\u00a0<\/sup>opened the doors of knowledge and explained the intricacies of sharia. Jabir also narrated to the Imam all that he had witnessed, especially the <em>nass<\/em> of Ghadeere Khum.<\/p>\n<p>Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansari is a name that occurs often during the narration of the virtues of Ahle Bait\u00a0<sup>AS<\/sup> and those who dedicated their lives to their service and devotion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Among all the companions of Rasulullah\u00a0SA, Jabir bin Abdullah al-Ansaari stands out for his reaching a great age.
