Not long ago the scenario in America was a different one. Mumineen who had come to America to study or work became influenced by consumerism, Western education and fashion. They came to the markaz once or twice a year, and their children, for a lack of deeni upbringing, were going astray.

But Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin’s RA constant concern sustained Mumineen, and his untiring travels and efforts fortified their faith. And each visit led to a renaissance in his followers, increased their devotion and imaan manifold, and raised them in their levels of commitment to the tenets of Islam. He laid foundations for and inaugurated masjid after masjid in the west which would ensure the continuance of deeni activities and bring Mumineen closer together and closer to him. His compassion: a benevolent smile, a kind word, a caring gaze gave Mumineen something to treasure for a lifetime, and for the hereafter.

This was Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin’s TUS first safar mubarak to North America as al-Dai al-Mutlaq. Syedna’s visit to the State of California lasted 17 days, spanning Los Angeles, San Jose, Bakersfield, Fremont and Orange County. Wherever he went, mohabbat was manifest: on faces, attire, in homes and most importantly in their hearts.
