Alaika al-Salaam Ya Shahra Ramadan! Alaika al-Salaam Ya Shahra Ramadan! Alaika al-Salaam Ya Shahra Ramadan!<\/em> As we recite these words, we bid farewell to this holy month. Over its final week, we have recited Nabi na Naam<\/em> \u2013 praying salawaat<\/em> on the six prophets: Moulana Adam Safiyullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Nuh Najiullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Ibrahim Khalilullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Musa Kalimullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana \u00b4Eesa Ruhullah AS<\/sup>, and Moulana Mohammed Rasulallah SA<\/sup>, the leader and last of Allah Ta\u00b4ala\u2019s messengers. This was followed by salawaat<\/em> upon all Anbiyaa\u2019 Kiraam and Mursaleen AS<\/sup>.<\/p>\n

All of Allah\u2019s prophets were sent to us at Allah\u2019s command when humanity was in great need of them. The prophets were munzireen <\/em>and mubashireen<\/em>; they came bearing both warnings and glad tidings. Each prophet confirmed that Qiyaamat, the Day of Judgment, is an undeniable truth. Qiyaamat will come; its occurrence is certain and inevitable.<\/p>\n

By doing the tasbeeh<\/em> of these prophets, we affirm our belief in each one. We acknowledge the pure lineage of Moulatona Hawwa\u2019 AS<\/sup>. Most importantly, we acknowledge the continuation, the chain, the tasalsul<\/em> from Nabi Adam AS<\/sup> to Nabi Mohammed Rasulallah SA<\/sup>. The words of Rasulallah SA<\/sup> and Aimmat Tahereen AS<\/sup> bear testimony to this tasalsul. <\/em>Rasulallah has stated, \u201cMy Ahle Bayt amongst you are like the safinah (ark)<\/em> of Nooh, the one who boards it will attain salvation, and he who remains behind will drown.\u201d Amirul Mumineen states, \u201cThe knowledge, which has been revealed to Adam AS<\/sup>, and all the pre-eminence possessed by the prophets is found in Mohammed, the last of the prophets, and in his noble descendants\u2026\u201d.<\/p>\n

An integral part of faith is to affirm the tasalsul<\/em> for Islam recognizes Moulana Adam Safiyullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Nooh Najiullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Ibrahim Khalilullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana Moosa Kalimullah AS<\/sup>, Moulana \u00b4Eesa Ruhullah AS <\/sup>as rightful prophets. Furthermore, no prophet has graced the earth, but he has travelled to Karbala where he mourned Imam Hussain AS<\/sup> and cursed his murderers.<\/p>\n

Moulana Adam Safiyullah AS<\/sup> came to Karbala, and fell ill. As he rose, his feet were wounded, and blood began to flow. He looked up towards the Heavens, addressing Allah, \u201cWhat sin have I committed to warrant such a wound?\u201d The heavens resounded and mourned along with Adam saying: \u201cDo not fear, Adam \u2013 you are sinless! Your illness and your wound are reminders that your son, Hussain, will be killed in Karbala! His blood will be spilled on this hot desert as yours has.\u201d Adam AS<\/sup> asked Jibraeel, \u201cwhat shall I do?\u201d. Jibraeel replied \u201cCurse, Yazid\u201d. Adam AS<\/sup> cursed Yazid four times, and then journeyed towards Arafah.<\/p>\n

When Moulana Nuh Najiullah\u2019s AS<\/sup> ark reached Karbala, it was buffeted by a storm unlike any other. Wave after wave, high as mountains, pummeled the ark. Nuh cried out, \u201cOh Allah! I have travelled this earth, but never have I encountered such a tempest!\u201d Jibraeel called to him, \u201cOh Nooh! This is the place where your Nabi Mohammed\u2019s grandson Hussain bin Ali will be martyred! Yazid, the accursed, will be responsible for his death!\u201d Nuh AS<\/sup> cursed Yazid four times, and the ark sailed on.<\/p>\n

Moulana Ibrahim Khalilullah AS<\/sup> arrived in Karbala on horseback. His horse stumbled, and Ibrahim Nabi AS<\/sup> fell, suffering a wound to his head. He immediately sought repentance. \u201cOh Allah,\u201d He cried, \u201cWhat sin have I committed that has warranted such an injury!\u201d Jibraeel replied, \u201cOh Khalilullah \u2013 friend of Allah \u2013 you have not sinned! Your son, Husain, will be martyred here! His blood will be spilled here!\u201d Ibrahim Nabi\u2019s horse, remembering that Imam Hussain\u2019s horse would kneel to allow Imam Husain AS<\/sup> to dismount, began to cry. Ibrahim Nabi AS<\/sup> cursed Yazid a thousand times and along with his horse, mourned the death of his grandson.<\/p>\n

Moulana Musa Kalimullah AS<\/sup> came to Karbala. His shoes tore, his feet grazed a sharp rock, and blood flowed from the wound. Musa AS<\/sup> questioned Allah Ta\u00b4ala, to which He replied, \u201cThis is the place where Imam Husain AS<\/sup> will attain shahadat<\/em>! His blood will spill as yours has.\u201d<\/p>\n

Moulana \u00b4Eesa Ruhillah AS<\/sup> traveled through Karbala. He witnessed several deer and antelope gathered together, weeping. \u00b4Eesa AS<\/sup> began to cry, as did his Apostles who asked, \u201cO, Ruhullah! Why do you weep? What place is this, in which even deer are overwhelmed by such grief?\u201d Moulana \u00b4Eesa AS<\/sup> replied, \u201cThis is where Husain, the son of Fatema al-Zahra AS<\/sup> \u2013 whose nobility is greater than that of my mother, Maryam AS<\/sup> \u2013 will be martyred! These deer and antelope are mourning Imam Husain!\u201d<\/p>\n

Soon, Eid al-Fitr, the day of celebration will be upon us. As we commemorate this joyous Eid by visiting family and friends, let us look forward, as Allah\u2019s prophets did, and remember Eid al-Huzn wa al-Ka\u00b4ab \u2013 the Eid of sorrow and hardship \u2013 Ashura. This is the Eid that has been remembered and mourned since the beginning of time by Adam, Nooh, Ibrahim, Moosa, \u2018Eesa, and Rasulallah- Allah\u2019s salutations and salaam upon them.<\/p>\n

For 50 years, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin RA<\/sup> called upon us to do bukaa\u2019 <\/em>and maatam <\/em>of Imam Husain. Today, our beloved Dai, Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin TUS<\/sup> has directed that we spend all nine days of Ashara Mubarakah immersed in mourning Imam Hussain\u2019s ultimate sacrifice. By the du\u00b4aa\u2019<\/em> and waseelah<\/em> of Anbiyaa\u2019 Kiraam, may Allah give us the strength and tawfeeq<\/em> to heed the call of both Moulas and say \u201cLabbaik Ya Dai Allah\u201d.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
