In the light of Rasulullah <sup>SAW<\/sup>\u2019s <em>hadith<\/em> <em>sharif<\/em>,<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: fatemi;\">\u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646 \u0627\u062e\u0648 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646 <\/span>\u00a0(A Mumin is a brother of a Mumin)<\/p>\n<p>Another element of Fatemi culture is the habit of addressing and calling each other by saying \u201c<em>BHAI<\/em>\u201d, like Taher bhai, Mohammed Bhai, Mufaddal bhai and so on.<\/p>\n<p>Lisan al-Dawat is a respectful language wherein we address each other saying, \u201c<em>tame<\/em>\u201d or \u201c<em>aap<\/em>.\u201d Saying \u201c<span style=\"font-family: fatemi;\">\u062a\u0648<\/span> \u00a0(to)\u201d to anyone, even if younger than us, is deemed disrespectful. Highlighting this aspect of respect in addressing each other with \u201c<em>bhai<\/em>\u201d, Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin <sup>TUS<\/sup> once said,<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cMumineen<\/em> of Surat have a habit of prefixing the names with \u201c<em>bhai<\/em>.\u201d They say, \u201c<em>Bhai Hatim<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>Bhai Taher<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>Bhai Nooruddin<\/em>.\u201d Addressing one with his first name (without saying \u201c<em>bhai<\/em>\u201d) seems disrespectful; like saying, \u201c<em>Hatim<\/em>\u201d, and \u201c<em>Taher<\/em>.\u201d One should refrain from such a form of address and instead, say, \u201c<em>Taher Bhai<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>Hatim Bhai<\/em>\u201d, \u201c<em>Husain Bhai<\/em>.\u201d<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Further, Syedna al-Dai al-Ajal <sup>TUS<\/sup> stresses this directive with the historical instance of the <em>amal<\/em> <em>sharif<\/em> of al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Taher Saifuddin<sup>RA<\/sup>:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMany of our elders have witnessed Maulana Taher Saifuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> addressing (Maulana Mohammed Burhanuddin<sup>RA<\/sup>) as, \u201c<em>Bhai Burhanuddin! Bhai Burhanuddin<\/em>!\u201d The sweetness with which he spoke these words is indescribable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Our young ones imitate our words and actions. Hence, utmost care should be taken in the selection of words while talking to them or conversing with others in their presence. Even young ones have their self-esteem. When they are addressed as elders, they feel proud and their self-respect gets heightened.<\/p>\n<p>Self-esteem is similar to self-worth. This can change from day to day or from year to year, but overall self-esteem tends to develop from infancy and keeps going until we are adults. Healthy self-esteem is like a child&#8217;s armour against the challenges of the world. Kids with high self-esteem feel good about themselves and seem to have an easier time handling conflicts and resisting negative pressures.\u00a0Kids can be sensitive to parents\u2019 and others\u2019 words.\u00a0Nurture your own self-esteem and they&#8217;ll have a great role model.<\/p>\n<p>The author of Rasaail Ikhwaan al-Safaa\u2019, Maulana Imam Ahmed al-Mastoor <sup>AS<\/sup> has throughout his epistles addressed the reader saying, \u201cKnow! O my Brother!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Abdeali Saifuddin RA has addressed his young <em>shahzadah<\/em> al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Mohammed Badruddin RA with these words, which each one of us knows:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: fatemi;\">\u0643\u064a\u0643\u0627 \u0628\u0647\u0627\u0626\u064a \u062c\u0644\u062f\u064a \u062b\u062b\u0631\u064c\u0647\u0648 <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>Al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Taher Saifuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> has addressed Mumineen in the opening verse of his popular <em>naseehat<\/em> with:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: fatemi;\">\u0628\u0631\u0627\u062f\u0631 \u062a\u0648 \u0646\u0635\u064a\u062d\u0629 \u0633\u0646 <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>It is narrated that Dai Abi Abdillah <sup>RA<\/sup> used to address Mumineen with \u201cYaa Akhaanaa\u201d, meaning \u201cO our brother!\u201d Mumineen of his time followed his example and addressed each other as \u201cYaa Akhaanaa!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>We have heard Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> and Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin <sup>TUS<\/sup> addressing us from <em>takht-e-imaami<\/em> with \u201cBiraadaro! Bhaiyo!\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The impact of this respectful language is such that when we call our colleagues \u201cbhai\u201d or \u201cbehen\u201d, ill-feelings and hostility for each other get washed away from our hearts. A spirit of oneness prevails and all differences and disparities are erased, a family-like bond is created. Pointing to this ultimate stage of oneness Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> explained the meaning of the following Quranic verse:<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"font-family: fatemi;\">\u0627\u062e\u0648\u0627\u0646\u0627 \u0639\u0644\u0649 \u0633\u0631\u0631 \u0645\u062a\u0642\u0627\u0628\u0644\u064a\u0646 <\/span><\/h2>\n<p>And we will remove from their hearts any deep feeling of bitterness (that they may have), (so they will be like) brothers facing each other on thrones.<\/p>\n<p>(Mumineen are like brothers) have one religion and belong to one family. Hence, they call each other \u201c<em>bhai<\/em>\u201d-\u201c<em>mumin<\/em> <em>bhai<\/em>\u201d. They all gather in one <em>majlis<\/em>, with no difference among them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>May Allah protect Fatemi Thaqaafat in our generations. Saying \u201cLabbayka Ya Da\u2019iyallah\u201d to the divine call of Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin <sup>TUS<\/sup> may we gather in the <em>majaalis<\/em> of Asharah Mubarakah as one.
