{"id":3328,"date":"2017-06-10T10:40:28","date_gmt":"2017-06-10T10:40:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/empireuae.com\/demo\/v2\/?p=3328"},"modified":"2017-06-10T10:40:39","modified_gmt":"2017-06-10T10:40:39","slug":"najwa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/empireuae.com\/demo\/misbah\/thaqaafatfatemiyah\/najwa\/","title":{"rendered":"Najwa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A <em>mumin<\/em> attending any <em>deeni<\/em> <em>majlis<\/em> witnesses a host of <em>rusoomaat<\/em> that substantially and unfailingly reflect the elements of <em>Thaqaafat<\/em> <em>Fatimiyah<\/em>. Having talked about <em>sharbat<\/em> and <em>wadhawani<\/em> <em>rasam<\/em>, the focus of this article is on <em>najwa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Najwa<\/em> is a word almost each <em>mumin<\/em>, <em>muminah<\/em> and their children are acquainted with. Mumineen go to great lengths and make special arrangements to procure exclusive envelopes for <em>najwa<\/em> and decorating the <em>najwa<\/em> trays. Young children excitedly prepare their <em>najwa<\/em> envelopes and decorate their cards to be offered along with <em>najwa<\/em>.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Shehre Ramadan is the month when <em>mumineen<\/em> world over cleanse their capital through <em>waajebaat<\/em> which has <em>najwa<\/em> as one of its components.<\/p>\n<p><em>Najwa<\/em> is a humble <em>hadiyah<\/em> (gift) offered by a <em>mumin<\/em> to <em>zamaan<\/em> <em>naa<\/em> <em>sahib<\/em> as a sign of veneration and as a means of attaining proximity to him. This <em>rasam (tradition)<\/em> is mentioned in clear words in the Holy Quran:<\/p>\n<p>\u064a\u0627\u064a\u0647\u0627 \u0627\u0644\u0630\u064a\u0646 \u0627\u0652\u0645\u0646\u0648\u0627 \u0627\u0630\u0627 \u0646\u0627\u062c\u064a\u062a\u0645 \u0627\u0644\u0631\u0633\u0648\u0644 \u0641\u0642\u062f\u0645\u0648\u0627 \u0628\u064a\u0646 \u0646\u062c\u0648\u0627\u0643\u0645 \u0635\u062f\u0642\u0629 \u0630\u0644\u0643 \u062e\u064a\u0631 \u0644\u0643\u0645 \u0648\u0627\u0637\u0647\u0631<\/p>\n<p>O Mumineen! Whence you intend to have an audience with the Rasool, then offer <em>najwa<\/em>. That will be better and purer for you.<\/p>\n<p>The above verse is in the form of a directive for <em>mumineen<\/em> to offer <em>najwa<\/em> whenever they come before their <em>maula<\/em>, the <em>Dai<\/em> and representative of <em>al-Rasool<\/em>. Hence, offering <em>najwa<\/em> has a Quranic injunction.<\/p>\n<p><em>Najwa<\/em> in Arabic means to talk with someone in private. The word <em>munajaat<\/em>; meaning the conversation between Allah and His <em>wali <sup>TUS<\/sup><\/em>, is derived from <em>najwa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>It is narrated by Amirul Mumineen Maulana Ali <sup>AS<\/sup> that when the <em>aayah<\/em> of <em>najwa<\/em> was revealed, he had one <em>dinar<\/em> with him. Forthwith, he exchanged that <em>dinar<\/em> for ten <em>dirhams<\/em>. Then after, whenever he came to the presence of Rasulullah <sup>SA<\/sup> he would offer one <em>dirham<\/em>. Subsequently, he used all the ten <em>dirhams<\/em> for the purpose of <em>najwa<\/em>. Till then, none of the <em>muslimeen<\/em> had acted in accordance with the divine command of offering <em>najwa<\/em> to Rasulullah <sup>SA<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>Another narration was delivered by al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Mohammed Burhnanuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> in one of his discourses. He said,<\/p>\n<p>When the <em>najwa<\/em> <em>aayah <\/em>was revealed, Amirul Mumineen Maulana Ali <sup>AS<\/sup> was the first to abide by it. He had a vessel which he sold for forty <em>dinars<\/em>. Then, he approached Rasulullah <sup>SA<\/sup> forty times with different queries and questions; each time offering one dinar. Then, Syedna Mohammed Burhanuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> added his words of <em>Ilhaam<\/em>:<\/p>\n<p>\u0627\u0645\u064a\u0631 \u0627\u0644\u0645\u0624\u0645\u0646\u064a\u0646 \u0646\u064a \u0634\u0627\u0646 \u062f\u064a\u0643\u06be\u0648! \u0627\u0645\u0631 \u0627\u0652\u064a\u0648 \u062a\u0648 \u0627\u0652\u067e \u0643\u062a\u0646\u0627 \u062c\u0644\u062f\u064a \u0633\u064a \u0627\u0645\u0631 \u0644\u0626\u064a \u0627\u0679\u06be\u06d2 \u0686\u06be\u06d2\u060c \u0628\u064a\u062c\u0627 \u0633\u06af\u0644\u0627 \u0627\u0679\u0643\u064a \u06af\u064a\u0627.<\/p>\n<p>Behold the virtue of Amirul Mumineen <sup>AS<\/sup>! He followed the divine command instantly; while others hesitated.<\/p>\n<p><em>Mumineen<\/em> offer <em>najwa<\/em> to Dai al-Zaman Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin <sup>TUS<\/sup> on various occasions; like <em>eid<\/em>, <em>milad<\/em>, <em>shehrullah<\/em>, while doing <em>qadambosi<\/em>, etc. The fact is, <em>mumineen<\/em> look forward to instances where upon they could offer <em>najwa<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Najwa<\/em> is not limited to its materialistic interpretation but rather encompasses much loftier ideals. In one of his verses al-Dai al-Ajal Syedna Mohammed Burhnanuddin <sup>RA<\/sup> writes,<\/p>\n<p>\u062f\u064f\u0645\u064f\u0648\u0652\u0639\u064f\u0646\u064e\u0627 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u0649 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u062d\u064f\u0633\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0646\u0650 \u063a\u064e\u062f\u064e\u062a\u0652\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u0646\u064e\u062c\u0652\u0648\u0670\u0649 \u0639\u064e\u0644\u064e\u064a\u0652\u0647\u064e\u0627 \u0644\u0650\u0644\u0652\u0645\u064e\u0639\u064e\u0627\u062f\u0650 \u0627\u0644\u0652\u0639\u0650\u0645\u064e\u0627\u062f<\/p>\n<p>Our tears on Imam Husain <sup>AS<\/sup> are our <em>najwa<\/em>; the mainstay of our <em>ma\u2019aad<\/em> (return [to the heavenly abode]).<\/p>\n<p><em>Najwa<\/em> is commonly known as \u201c<em>Najwa al-Shukr\u201d<\/em>. The term itself conveys the purpose of <em>najwa<\/em>. It is an expression of gratitude for the innumerable blessings bestowed upon us by Allah Ta\u00b4ala and His <em>wali <\/em><sup>TUS<\/sup>.<\/p>\n<p>The blessings and benedictions of Allah Ta\u00b4ala and His <em>wali <\/em><sup>TUS<\/sup> on a <em>mumin<\/em> are of such magnitude that all our acts of gratitude are ultimately insufficient. <em>Najwa<\/em> is but an expression of our <em>mohabbat<\/em> and <em>walaayat<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>May Allah grant Syedna Aali Qadr Mufaddal Saifuddin, the custodian of <em>Thaqafat Fatimiyah<\/em>, a long life till the Day of <em>Qiyaamat<\/em>. <em>Amin<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Note: The correct term is \u201cNajwa al-Shukr\u201d, not \u201cNajwatu al-Shukr.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A mumin attending any deeni majlis witnesses a host of rusoomaat that substantially and unfailingly reflect the elements of Thaqaafat Fatimiyah.
