As Allah states,

“And We made a people, considered weak (and of no account), inheritors of lands in both East and West– lands whereon We sent down Our blessings. The fair promise of thy Lord was fulfilled for the Children of Israel, because they had patience and constancy, and We levelled to the ground the great works and fine buildings which Pharaoh and his people erected (with such pride).” (Qur’an, 7:137)

Musa NabiAS led his followers out of Egypt to their homeland Jerusalem. On their way, they came across people who did not believe in one creator and worshipped several deities. Seeing them, a few ignorant individuals insisted upon having some deities. They said,

“O Moses! Stores of food and water they had carried while departing from Egypt depleted day by day. Finally, they were left with no water. Musa NabiAS prayed to Allah to give water to his followers, upon which, he was granted his famous miracle of the twelve springs. Replying to his prayers, Allah said,

“Strike the rock with thy staff.” Then gushed forth therefrom twelve springs.
